Hello! I am Brittnay Hay, 24 years old, born and raised in Huntington Beach California. Baking has been a passion of mine since I can remember. Growing up around my mom, watching her bake her famous chocolate chip cookies, I have been hooked ever since. I love the way baking makes you feel, but more importantly how it makes others feel when they get to try what you have spent so much time and effort on. One of my favorite things to do is to just sit and watch the cooking network, just seems to calm me. I am someone who is completley self-taught with all the passion in the world to back it up. 

I went to Bowling Green State University in Ohio on a full-scholarship for softball, where I graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies. Although my baking was put on hold while I was there, I took that time to study and learn all that I could about baking.

After graduation, I returned home to California with baking in full force. Tried every recipe I could get my hands on. Starting out of my parents' home messing up their kitchen and baking anything and everything.

Eventually got a job at Colet's Catering in Fullerton where I was chosen out of over one hundred applicants to be their new cake assistant and worked there for a short time, but wanted to focus more on my personal business. While in the process of getting my business up and going I worked at Ces't Si Bon Bakery in Newport Beach to learn a little more about the Bakery business and worked there for a while until it was time to put everything I had into my business, Brittnay's Bakery.

I started doing more and more family and friend's parties doing cakes, cupcakes, petite desserts, cookies, anything I could do to get my name out there, now I am currently the Pastry Chef for Avocado Cafe in Newport Beach California. It is exactly the start and the opportunity that I hoped for, and can't wait to see what's next for Brittnay's Bakery.
